Technical SEO, WordPress, security and performance diagnosis

This is the comprehensive diagnostic option for an operating website. It separates visible symptoms from their causes across search, content, application and infrastructure, then produces a prioritised defect register naming affected URLs or systems, evidence, corrective action and responsible owner.

Use the free Website Assessment for high-level triage. Use the Website Migration SEO Audit when the risk is specifically search preservation before, during and after a migration. If the findings point to ongoing technical ownership rather than a rebuild, see Website Management.

When to engage us

When to commission a website audit

01

Organic traffic has fallen without a confirmed cause

02

A redesign or migration is being planned

03

SEO, performance or security problems overlap

04

The website has accumulated years of plugins, redirects and content

The audit diagnoses and prioritises. Remediation is scoped separately under SEO, speed optimisation, server management or website redesign.

WHAT WE INVESTIGATE

We find what is actually holding the website back

A website rarely has one isolated problem. We examine the technical, search, content and WordPress layers together to identify where problems originate and how they affect each other.

Crawlability and indexation

Robots directives, XML sitemaps, canonicals, redirects, duplicate URLs and pages Google cannot correctly discover or index.

Performance and Core Web Vitals

Slow templates, scripts, images, third-party dependencies, caching and infrastructure constraints affecting real-world performance.

Website architecture and content

Page intent, internal linking, duplicate topics, content gaps, cannibalisation, structured data and information architecture.

WordPress health

Themes, plugins, WordPress core, licences, abandoned components, database issues and unnecessary dependencies.

Security and vulnerabilities

Known vulnerabilities, outdated components, user access, exposed files and common WordPress security risks.

Accessibility

Keyboard navigation, focus states, colour contrast, semantic structure and relevant WCAG 2.2 requirements.

The diagnosis

Know exactly what needs fixing and what to fix first

You receive a prioritised defect register your internal team, developer or agency can work from.

Evidence

Every finding identifies the affected page, template, component or system, with supporting evidence and the reason it matters.

Priority

Issues are ranked by severity, business impact and technical dependency, so your team knows what should be addressed first.

Action

Each finding includes a recommended corrective action and the appropriate owner, development, infrastructure, content, SEO or website administration.

How it works

From access to an actionable remediation plan

01

Establish the baseline

We collect the available Search Console, analytics, WordPress, hosting and crawl data and confirm the objectives of the audit.

02

Investigate the website

We examine search visibility, architecture, performance, content, WordPress components, security and accessibility, following issues across layers where necessary.

03

Verify and prioritise

Potential problems are validated before they become findings. Confirmed defects are ranked by severity, business impact and implementation dependency.

04

Deliver the roadmap

You receive the prioritised defect register, recommended corrective actions and a sequenced remediation roadmap your team can implement.

Need help fixing the findings?
Your internal team can implement the recommendations, or Ulement can scope the remediation separately.

Scope and cost

Website audit cost and timeline in Malaysia

One to three weeks

Typical audit duration

For most organisational websites, subject to indexed URLs, languages and data access.

Bounded engagement

Defined deliverable

The audit ends with an owned defect register. Remediation is priced separately.

Indexed page count, language count, Search Console history and website complexity determine the scope.

Questions about website audit

Website audit and technical SEO FAQs

How is this different from running a crawl tool?

A crawl tool reports data. The audit interprets that data against search history and business intent, then specifies what should be fixed first.

How long does a website audit take?

Most organisational websites take one to three weeks from access to delivery. Indexed page count, languages, website complexity and available history affect the duration.

Do you implement the fixes?

Optionally. You can take the defect register to your own team, or ask us to scope the remediation separately.

What access do you need?

Search Console and analytics at owner level, plus read access to the hosting and WordPress environments. Exports can be used where policy restricts access.

Is the vulnerability scan a penetration test?

No. The audit checks common WordPress exposure, software status, users, files and known vulnerabilities. A manual penetration test is a separate specialist security engagement.

Can you audit a website that is not on WordPress?

Yes. The technical SEO diagnosis is CMS-independent. Theme, plugin and WordPress vulnerability checks apply only to WordPress websites. Any later implementation is scoped against the system in use.

Will the audit recommend a redesign?

Only where the evidence shows that targeted remediation cannot resolve the structural problem economically. Many audits lead to focused repairs rather than a full rebuild.
